Becci Allen’s Great North Run, supporting Mind
Becci’s training has now started in preparation for The Great North Run on the 19th of September 2010.
The Great North Run is one of the world’s most popular half marathon road running event. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields in England with 54,000 runners.
Becci is taking part in the half marathon event in support of the charity Mind. The charity has been speaking out for better mental health for 60 years and is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. They work for a better life for everyone with experience of mental or emotional distress.
The whole team at Clark Howes are very proud of Becci’s determination and commitment to completing the event and supporting her chosen charity. After already completing four 10K runs as part of her training we are all very confident she will succeed in her goals.

Cancer Research (UK) – Relay for Life Buckingham
Chris Munro and friends
From April through to June Chris joined forces with her friends to raise money for Cancer Research. The idea was for each team to organise events and raise as much money as possible prior to the weekend of June 19th when all the teams would gather in Bourton School playing fields for a 24 hour relay ‘race’.
There were some very good and some very bad fundraising ideas for ‘The Dirty Dozen’ team, but over the 3 months they had some fun and held a coffee morning, a pamper day, a quiz night, a basketball reunion, a collection at Towcester Races and a golf day. All of which were very successful and when all monies are finally collected The Dirty Dozen will have exceeded all their expectations and raised somewhere in the region of a fantastic £11,000.
After the event Chris said “I can thoroughly recommend this event as a way of raising money for such a worthwhile cause and having some fun, although I must admit I think my days of staying up all night are long gone……”
The Buckingham event as a whole anticipates raising over £100K.
