Clark Howes joins forces with The Baldwins Group
A rapidly growing UK accountancy practice is expanding into Oxfordshire for the first time.
The Baldwins Accountancy Group has joined forces with Clark Howes, whose headquarters are in Bicester and is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year.
Clark Howes’ 40 members of staff will remain at its offices in Victoria Road, Bicester, and Smeaton Close, Aylesbury, and the business will continue to trade as Clark Howes.
They have 781 clients in a wide range of specialist sectors including software & technology, property and construction, start-ups and charities.
This latest acquisition increases Baldwins’ total number of offices to 40 across the UK, employing nearly 1,100 staff with an annual turnover of around £55 million.
Clark Howes was established in 1996 and provides general accountancy services ranging from tax returns to a fully outsourced accountancy service while gaining a reputation as business growth specialists.
Tony Sarin, who will remain as a consultant of Clark Howes, said when he and managing director Tim Shaw took over the business four years ago, the plan was to continue to grow Clark Howes before joining a wider group of accountants.
“I believe Clark Howes will continue to grow and provide exceptional service for our clients and staff. Joining Baldwins is a natural progression to take the business to the next level.
There are two main advantages to joining Baldwins. It is positive for our staff since it increases their potential for career progression in a much larger group and it provides additional services for our clients in areas such as corporate finance and having access to more tax specialists.”
Juliet Gillett, Director of Business Services, said:
“I am excited and looking forward to the future with Baldwins. By joining together, we can continue to offer fantastic, personal service but with the added benefits of being part of a larger group.”
Shaun Knight, head of corporate finance at Baldwins, said the combined strength of both businesses is an ideal platform for further strong growth.
“Oxfordshire is a new region for Baldwins and we believe there is great scope to build on Clark Howes’ success with established businesses and start-up companies.
Clark Howes has recruited employees with a wealth of business and industry expertise in a mix of sectors and we believe we can help the business develop further.
This acquisition means businesses throughout Oxfordshire will have access to a dedicated team of financial experts in their region to assist their development and ensure they are in the best possible position to grow.”
