The High Court has today appointed the Official Receiver as liquidator of the following Carillion companies:-

  • Carillion Plc
  • Carillion Construction Limited
  • Carillion Services Limited
  • Planned Maintenance Engineering Limited
  • Carillion Integrated Services Limited
  • Carillion Services 2006 Limited

Carillion’s liquidation will have a significant impact on its supply chain,  subcontractors, staff and potentially, some of the employers it is working for.

The Court has appointed Special Managers at PwC to assist and a dedicated website has been created to provide information and assist those affected by the liquidation. You can reach the website by clicking here.

The Official Receiver’s priority is to ensure the continuity of public services while securing the best outcome for creditors. Unless told otherwise, all employees, agents and subcontractors are being asked to continue to work as normal and they will be paid for the work they do during the liquidations. Further information for suppliers to Carillion can be found here.

HMRC is offering practical advice and guidance to businesses affected by the Carillion liquidation through its Business Payment Support Service (BPSS). The service connects businesses with HMRC staff who can help and give advice on a variety of tax issues. The Business Payment Support Service can:

  • Agree instalment arrangements if you can't pay your tax on time following the Carillion collapse
  • Suspend any debt collection proceedings;
  • Review penalties for missing statutory deadlines;
  • Reduce any payments on account; and
  • Agree to defer payments due to short-term cash flow difficulties.

HMRC can also provide workers and their families with cash support through the tax credits system.

You can contact the BPSS service on 0300 200 3835. The service is open seven days a week between 8:00am and 8:00pm on weekdays closing at 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
